Rural Alberta Advantage

A few weeks ago I headed into NYC to see one of my favorite bands, The Rural Alberta Advantage, play a show at the Bowery Ballroom. The evening began with a foray to SoHo to meet some friends for dinner and drinks before the show.

Then we walked over to the Bowery and took in the performance – which was absolutely amazing! Afterwards I got a chance to chat with the band for a bit and snap a few photos (sorry for the grainy, dark photos...my iPhone does not make the best camera).

I so so so wish I was not making this super odd face in this pic with 2/3 of the band and my helpmeet flashing an equally geeky smile. This might actually be one of the worst photos of us in existence...

I was also able to pick up both their albums on vinyl (for a very reasonable price) and have them autographed by the band. Then it was the 2 am train to New Haven for this tired and happy gal.

This is how you raise the roof on the train home

The only down point was that it started pouring while we were strolling around and I had neglected to bring an umbrella so my friend and I hilariously raced from garbage can to garbage can pulling out mangled, broken, and abandoned umbrellas that were just sturdy enough to make it to the next garbage can and a new, slightly damaged, umbrella.
