Catch You On the Flipside Chicago

I’m flying back to New Haven this evening from Chicago. Even though the conference was stressful (job interviews!!!!), I had a fabulous time reconnecting with friends (over wine) and even got out to see the city a bit.

I tried these on at a Nordstrom Rack store last night. They were so exquisitely painful. I also went there to “shop” with a colleague after we’d consumed several glasses of chardonnay so clomping around in dangerously high heels was perhaps not such a great choice. I did score a lovely little Theory top for $12 though so I’m happy.

Now that all the excitement of Chicago and the AHA are over I am looking forward to getting home and starting teaching on Thursday. Also, I’ve been wearing a suit for the past four days and am dying to toss on some comfy shoes, a tank, and some comfy pants. Like this.

tank: Zara / blazer: H&M / purse: Kimchi Blue, Urban Outfitters / pants: Gap / brooch: Edmonton Antique Fair about 10 years ago

The shoes are a pretty color, but I would never be able to wear them. I right there with you when it comes to loosing dressy clothes for jeans and a tee.

Wow, those booties are beautiful! What an amazing color.
I hate interviews I know how stressful they can be, unfortunately its a step we cannot skip in life (at least most of us can't). Alt least you got to see some friends, that is always nice.
Have a happy Monday,

Girl you're lucky you didn't wipe out in Nordstrom clompin around in those...then again they might have let you have 'em? Decisions, decisions....

Hope those interviews were a success!! Move west. To Southern California west. please.

Painful yes? Exquisite? Also yes- the price we pay for shoes (but probably best you didn't buy them in your wine induced state!) ;) I hope your job interviews went well!
