All the Frills: Halloween!

One of the very first things I did when October hit was to get out all of my Halloween décor and spend half a day happily getting my house properly spooky. Halloween is hands down my favourite time of the year. I start planning my costume(s) over the summer, love to decorate for Halloween and take long neighbourhood walks to see other people’s decorations, visit haunted houses, and generally just celebrate everything about the season.

New Work Uniform

Every fall my work mates and I go around to a bunch of different academic departments here on campus to give short orientation sessions – I feel like having to speak for 10 minutes in front of crowds ranging from five people to over 150 was as good an occasion as any to wear my striped blazer.

So I got the cutest earrings ever recently!

Weekend Reading:

• This is a very interesting game idea, and yet it still manages to be problematic.
• I enjoyed this take on the whole Caroline Calloway mess.
• So this is horrifying, but also partially the plot of the movie Orphan. I remain riveted by it.
• Why am I not at all surprised by this? Saddened and angered, but not surprised.
• This story of an Amish attempted getaway is everything.

Mint Green

I really need to get more pieces in my closet in this sort of mint green shade. I don’t wear colour that often or really gravitate to it much at all, but I do love a dash of green and I find this mint shade really soothing. Now to remember to keep my eyes peeled the next time I’m shopping…

Bye Bye Summer

Summer this year in my neck of the woods was a rather dismal affair with very few warm days and a lot of rainy and windy days. I’m not at all complaining about that though because, a) I really dislike summer and b) it means I didn’t have to wait until fall proper to wear my new poncho.

Ballet-esque

I’m irritated with myself for not taking more photos of this rarely worn dress that has sort of a ballet/dance vibe to me (owing to the length and the thin layer of tulle on it). I guess next time? So, you know, in like 2 years…
