Mean Girl Goth

I stumbled across these photos from early May (I can tell they date from then because New Haven was experiencing a run of fairly crappy and rainy weather and something about rain makes me want to live in leggings and shorts – it’s weird right? And of course the wedge sandals proved to be totally weather inappropriate. Oops. And realized I forgot to post the photos. Oops again. Let me just rectify that mistake.

I'm starting to pack for my move back to Canada (I even rented an apartment!!!) and am frantically trying to make some revisions to an article that I am trying to publish over the summer so I am strapped for time and need an easy post anyways. See, maybe this hasn't been a whole dismal series of mistakes after all.

I love how mean I look with dark lipstick on, like a teenage goth who's going to rough you up and then split an order of french fries in the mall food court with 5 other mean goth girls (yeah, I may not have been a super nice person in High School)
shorts: Jason Wu for Target / shirt: Seal Maiden via Etsy / Blazer: H&M / shoes: Target / leggings: American Apparel / watch: my helpmeet’s

Finally, I'll be drawing a winner in the Eshakti giveaway this Friday so, if you haven't yet, enter it here!

You were a mean goth girl in high school?! Color me shocked, you're so nice now! Don't feel bad though, I apparently had my pretty mean days when I was in elementary school, I to this day feel bad about it although I don't recall much of it - the few things I recall I hate myself for. I love the shoes. Happy packing!

I love this goth esque look!! Your blazer is awesome, and so are those shoes. I was really metal in high school, very dark makeup and band tees all the time. It's so funny how things change.

I love the title of this post :) I think you're more of a "grown up" goth. Hope your preparations to move go smoothly!

You look good in the dark lipstick though! Wish I could pull it off. Love print on the top and the color of your shorts!

I never thought of leggings and shorts, but it seems like a good choice for cold rainy days. I hate getting my pants hems wet.

Very cool. You look like you could shove me into my school locker... It's great when we play out ideas.

Courtney, I LOVE this looks, like a whole heck of a lot! I was never "gothy" because I could just never pull off the dark lips, but I always WANTED to look goth! Loving the wedges and the tights look! and your hair is amazing like this with asymmetry!

I love the idea of pairing a blazer with shorts over tights. It's way too hot for that now, but maybe in the autumn. Good luck with the revisions and the packing!
