Road Warrior

Belatedly, here are some shots from my recent travels in Boston, Concord, Salem, and Reading, MA. It’s all part of my farewell tour to the Northeast. It’s been an amazing 6 years and I was glad I was able to fit in a few more days of road tripping before I leave.

Salem. I want to point out that that whole town smells like incense.

Salem. That I am truly a witch will come as no surprise to those who know me well.

Salem

Any Hawthorne fans?

I am still kicking myself for not buying this when I discovered it in a Salem shop.

Yeah, this too.

It just isn't Salem without a trip to the Witch House.

And here are a few snaps from my weekend getaway in NYC. I spent most of the weekend in Brooklyn, staying with one of my best New Haven gal pals who relocated to the Prospect Park area to live with her girlfriend and then at my New Haven roomate’s boyfriend’s place a few blocks away (to rent a semi-decently large place in New Haven is pricey so, for the past three years my helpmeet and I have been shacking up with an amazing dude in the Italian department here who I am going to miss like nobody’s business back in Canada…and his boyfriend is an architect in the City who has an amazing apartment, hangs out with notable fashion photographers, knows all the best wine bar and brunch spots in town, and designed the Joe Fresh flagship store in Manhattan, so yeah, he’s pretty awesome). It was a laid back weekend of chilling with friends and drinking WAY too much wine and dirty martinis. But we did find a little time to explore, as you can see.

I've traveled the East coast so little, but I think Salem looks like such an interesting place to visit! I'm crossing my fingers that my trip to NYC in August works out

WOah that sounds like one amazing road trip! Being from Florida I think New York is as far north as I've ever seen(and I haven't explored outside of this area...ever!) Looks like an awesome time!

Oh em gee, how FUN! I totally wish I lived in the East Coast because I would LOVE to roadtrip to those places without being too far from home! The places close to moi aren't as pretty or historical... Though I'm not a Hawthorne fan, I took a really intensive course on American Lit from that period, so it's fascinating to see everything Hawthorne, Emerson, Thoreau- related! Too cool!

The sleepy hollow cemetery looks very cool and so does Salem. Love your outfit in Brooklyn.

whew, you've been a busy little bee! I'd be interested to hear what you thought of the house of the seven gables. Kevin & I went to Salem a few years ago during peak Halloween time and visited the house. I thought the tour was way too short!

You have the cutest tops! I seriously want all of them. Travelling is the best -- I wish I had the time and money to go on trips all the time. I'm making an effort to go on a small weekend trip once a month this summer, even if just for a night. Good luck with your move!

Love all these pics - thanks for sharing. I like that many of your Boston pics are almost exact copies of pictures I have - great minds think alike, eh?
