Framed

Regular readers know that my glasses make frequent appearances on the blog. While I enjoy the freedom of wearing contacts, I also spend a lot of time every day writing in front of my computer and reading (the glamorous life of an academic) and that means eye strain. I also just genuinely appreciate the look of glasses and don’t at all mind wearing them on a fairly regular basis. I first got my glasses in grade 4 and spent the better part of the next 8 years wishing I had normal eyes and didn’t have to wear corrective lenses. But when I hit high school I started to change my tune and embraced my glasses wearing persona with aplomb.

All of this is to say that I recently decided it was time to get an alternate pair of specs so I could have a little variety in my frames choices. Enter Clearly Contacts and these bold frames. My order came quickly and the customer service was great – the biggest challenge was trying to decide which of the many frames on their site to choose!

dress: Jason Wu for Target / tights: Target / shoes: Target / cardigan: H&M / watch: the helpmeet’s

And, yeah, I'm aware that's a lot of Target!

Love them! I'm horrible about keeping the same frames for years - I need a new pair myself.

These frames suit you sooo well, I love them! I am planning on getting some just for fun frames soon too.
And this dress is so perfect with the tights and cardigan! I can't wait to come home to tights weather

I like the new glasses. I have been wanting a pair of gray frames, but haven't gotten around to buying them since I already have two pairs of glasses.

Well target is awesome :)
I love glasses but sadly I do not need them ;) but I don't think I'd be able to handle them all the time

I've been wearing my frames a lot lately for work, and just bought a new pair recently. I love the ones that you chose. Great colour!

I'm still on the fence about my own glasses. I've had them since I was ten and can only see about a foot in front of me without them... but I was a diehard contact wearer, in spite of all of the time I spent on the computer, until last November when I suddenly developed a very unpleasant allergy that made wearing them impossible. I'm still trying to find ways to embrace wearing my frames - I'll have to take a lesson from you, because your are fabulous! I love the colour :)

Before Lasik, I used to alternate between contacts and glasses but honestly preferred the contacts because for me, regardless of how lightweight the glasses frame was supposed to be, it always started bothering me after a few hours of wear (and I used to be about blind as a bat without my contacts or glasses)!

Firstly, I love the glasses look. My sister wears the coolest pair but she hates them. I always say how great they are because they are another accessory to play with!! Yours look great on you and I love that your embrace it!

Secondly, I really like this outfit. It is nothing like my style but it is really refreshing and if I saw you out on the street I would definitely notice this outfit.

Great post :)

Those glasses look fantastic on you! I really like the color and subtle design, too.

Also love that dress. It works really well with the cardigan.

These are cute! I only have one pair that I wear regularly because I only need them to see far, so I leave them in my car for when I'm driving. But I think I'm gonna start needing them more often and would like a cuter pair! Too many decisions! :)
