The Obvious Report: Oxblood is a Trend

Like most everyone else these days, Oxblood (or burgundy...hey, let's call a spade a spade shall we?) is killing me with its richness.

Oxblood

While always a staple of fall collections, Oxblood is making a major appearance in Fall 2012 collections, from Kenneth Cole to Jason Wu to the makeup and manicures featured in the Donna Karen and Catherine Malandrino runways shows. This rich, deep shade is poised to be a key trend this autumn. Here are a few ways to get this shade into your wardrobe.

A fun dress (Jason Wu, Fall 2012)

Something bold and perfectly tailored (Albino, Fall 2012)

Makeup and nail shades (Catherine Malendrino, Fall 2012 runway show)

A luxurious statement jakcet (Jason Wu, Fall 2012)

 A bold blazer (Topshop)

Embrace it from head to toe (Kenneth Cole, Fall 2012)
Work it in via purses and shoes (Stuary Weitzman, Fall 2012)
Another perfectly structured piece of outerwear (Topshop)

OXBLOOD EVERYTHING. Saying that sounds really, really weird. And makes me sound a tad psychotic, no? But really, I am obsessed

I love the oxblood trend as well except I prefer to call it 'burgundy', oxblood reminds me of, well, blood! I love the blazer!

I do love the rich burgundy shades and fortunately have a few pieces in my wardrobe that already incorporate that color. I would love to have an oxblood blazer, though.

I don't think I'm gonna go out and spend money on burgundy...I mean, oxblood this fall. But I must say, it is a beautiful color, especially on that skirt.

I've always loved this color..no matter what it's called..surprisingly I don't have any of it in my closet at the moment! WTF?! I guess I'll have to add it to my "must get" list.

Another creepy name -- kinda like 'pussybow' haha! Love the color, though. It's so rich and gorgeous. That skirt is to die for!

I would have called this color maroon, but oxblood has a much nicer ring to it.

My closet is seriously lacking in this color. I need to pick up at least one piece in Oxblood. I think that blazer is perfect.
