Low Key New Years

I had a super low key New Years this year. My helpmeet was working and I was ill over Christmas so I wasn’t really jazzed about going out to celebrate. I also always find New Years kinds of anticlimactic and Halloween is, as you know, my big holiday. So, instead of hitting the town, I got all gussied up in a faux leather skirt and the shoes I wore at my wedding, procured a nice bottle of wine, got some pizza, and spent the night watching movies and Skyping with one of my very best friends in San Diego. It was a weird way to spend New Years, but probably also one of the most fun new New Years I can remember.

Happy New Year! Although you had a low-key one it looks like you were dressed perfectly and that alone makes for a great evening!

This is actually one of the few years in recent memory where I did go out for New Year's. I didn't stay out late, mind you, but I was out - and for me that counts ;) I always find NYE a bit anticlimactic, anyway, since it ushers in the start of January, my least favourite month of the year, so I can totally sympathise and I think your night sounds pretty perfect :)

Sometimes a night in for NYE is just what you need- and you looked fab doing it! Pizza + wine, yes, gimme. :)

I loved that you did all this on New Year's Eve! I stayed in, too. But no wine for me ; )

I like that you still got dressed up to stay in - my new years eve was absolutely spent in PJs wrapped in blankets on the couch.

I'm also really happy that your wedding shoes still get to come out and go on the town in the house sometimes too.
