Date Night

My lovely parents recently stayed with Eleanor (she loves getting to hang out with her grandparents) so my helpmeet and I could have a night out and see a movie. It was so nice to be out for a bit – I mean I’m out all the time with Eleanor when I take her to library programs, to visit friends and family, etc, but being out solo and doing things other than running errands and grocery shopping was really nice. I consider myself tremendously fortunate to have my parents as a support system. They’ve been such an amazing help (coming over to sit with Eleanor so I can clean the house and get caught up on laundry, cooking meals for us, the list just goes on and on).

Living close to your parents is a win-win. You get lots of help and they get lots of time with their granddaughter. I know my mom wishes she wasn't over two hours from her grandchildren.

Having your parents nearby is so handy- and it's awesome for them to be so close to Eleanor! And an adults-only date night is def necessary now and then- love that coat, doll!

When it comes to raising kids, it really does take a village - I don't know how people manage it in scenarios where they're far away from family, but I guess it just means getting more creative. Either way, you're very lucky for sure.

So awesome your parents are close by, seriously a godsend. Even with just the dog, some days I drop him off to chill with my mom since she retired and I have some crazy long hours.
Love the jacket, and that you guys got a date night!

What an awesome printed coat! :)

I'm lucky my mum comes around once a week each week to pick the boys up from daycare when I wore late, and she entertains them and lets me cook dinner in peace, haha! SOme days she cooks dinner for us too! :) I'm very lucky!

Hope you are having a good week so far and all your Christmas preparation is going well! I'm so behind with wrapping presents - need to do more this weekend!
