Lighting Woes

As much as I love winter, I can't wait for the longer days of spring to arrive so I can actually venture outside to get photos (currently it's dark when my helpmeet leaves in the morning and dark again by the time he gets home). There is just no good place in my house to snap decent indoor photos.

Winter photos are the bane of my existence. We have a lighting kit and still indoor photos never quite look the way I want, but our schedules are completely different, so getting photos during daylight hours is some kind of miracle. This year I've been able to rely on a back log of Europe photos, which means we've taken about three sets of photos since the start of 2018 and gotten away with it. But next year is going to be a lot more challenging.

I hear you- these super short days are a killer for those of us who need daylight for outfit shoots! My winter trick is to find a morning over the weekend when my photographer and I can get together, and then batch shoot a bunch of outfits so I can spread those out when I can't shoot on the fly!
