All the Frills: The Bookshelf of My Dreams

So here are the first bits of my finished living room refresh – the bookshelf of my dreams! Previously we had a lot of low, wide shelves (IKEA Kallex and Expedit models, to be exact) but we want to consolidate and declutter. So we bought one giant, tall unit that was simultaneously not as deep and I proceed to get rid of about 20 odd books that I felt I could part with and we put almost everything (all our art books are in a different place) in here. I love it!

Yayy! Looking good!! Sadly I don't have enough books to fill a bookshelf, but my shelves will be filled with books/harry potter/disney stuff soon enough! CAN'T WAIT! :D

Oh my this is the bookshelf of my dream too!! Except I weirdly organize mine by colour.
The preview for I feel pretty definitely looked like an interesting concept, but I can see that there would be some issues in it.

Getting the right bookshelves is no easy feat - but when you find them, it feels like a miracle! I'm currently working with a Kallax and another Ikea model myself. But the second model is way overstuffed. I'm not sure whether I should stop buying so many books or get a new shelf... but ultimately, I know which of those things will happen.

The new bookshelves look amazing, and I'm in love with your alligator bookends!

The NICU moms article seems to tie in the other article about how hospitals can't seem to figure out how to merge the recovery of the moms with the recovery of the babies - you shared that one, right? It seems so obvious and the hospitals are painted to make it seem impossible. It's 2018 and we can't get better care for childbirth?

I feel like every article about I feel pretty paints it in a negative light. I think the sad part is the movie failed because we just don't live in a world where women can be judged without their looks coming into consideration. I think the best thing to do is to show diverse women who don't fit into the typical beauty standards as confident, successful, and beautiful, without them having "magical" self confidence. Just real self confidence.

The aligator book ends look so fancy and the size seems just perfect for your collection. I do not have a specific place for books at home. I have some in a chest, others on my nightstand and then some in the living room...
