All the Frills: Heavenly Bodies

So the Met’s Heavenly Bodies exhibition book is beyond stunning. I’ve perused it twice now and it’s just breathtaking. And some of the essays penned to accompany it (mainly about the role of fashion and clothing in religion) are equally compelling. It really is a great book, and I have a pretty notable weakness for those types of large coffee table style books.

So fascinating! I looove that second to last one. Wish I wasn't so cheap/lazy because I could go to the met whenever I wanted if I wasn't, haha

that looks like a beautiful book. And I'm glad the sculptures are staying up. It's so strange to think as a society we all still don't feel comfortable acknowledging where babies come from.

This book looks absolutely beautiful. I admit that there are a lot of other fashion books above it on my wishlist, but someday I would love to add it to my collection.

Oh wow, I had honestly never thought of the connection of fashion and clothing in religion - it does seem like a good read with the bonus of beautiful images.
