All the Frills: A Little Dior

I recently headed a few hours south to attend a work conference (it was the annual meeting of the professional association for student association managers – sounds thrilling, no?). It was actually a super interesting conference because student associations in Ontario are currently under attack and financial constraint thanks to Ford’s Student Choice Initiative (and, unfortunately, Alberta’s UCP party seems poised to implement something similar, meaning my job, my association, and all my staff and the services we provide to our members are also under threat). It’s a nerve-wracking situation and it was really wonderful to gather with colleagues and share strategies. But it was also the longest I’ve been away from Eleanor since she was born and that was rough. What made things a bit more bearable, aside from Facetiming her twice a day, was sneaking in a visit to Calgary’s stunning Glenbow Museum to see their exhibit on Dior. So get ready for a deluge of photos….

I am so sad we didn't check this out the last time we were in calgary, GORGEOUS pieces.
Yeah it's insane that they can do pelvic exams on unconscious individuals in 42 states, what in the actual fuck.

While that sounds like a particularly difficult work trip, how wonderful to actually get to take a little time while on a work trip to do something that you enjoy, just for yourself. The Dior exhibits that have been going on world wide for the past few years have really caught my eye and I would love a chance to eventually see one in person.

What a stunning exhibit! I'm trying to imagine what it would be like to wear the black gown with the champagne waist band, swoon.
