As we have all become sadly aware of in the last weeks, John Galliano is a bit of a douche, an Anti-Semite, an ugly drunk, and an all around asshat. However, he was also a skilled designer and while his termination from Dior was completely warranted (and I applaud them for their unequivocal stance on the matter, they didn’t “Sheen” him and give him a pathetic number of chances to stop being an ass all the while padding his bank account), his last showing in Paris, Ready to Wear Fall 2011 (after he was terminated), was one of my favorites from him. Here are a few of the pieces that I drooled over the most (all images from style.com.

Doesn't seem fair does it. Can't nice people be the ones with talent? x
Gorgeous. Too bad he's such a douche.

When that news broke out, I was quite shell-shocked because like you acknowledged here, Galliano is such a talented designer. Oh well. I certainly will never be supporting his work with my wallet ever.
Amazing dresses! <3
Im in love with all of these as well...Im telling you, everyday there is just another person that totally goes off the deep end...:(

This is a Great collection and sadly the designer is a jerk.
Oh John Galliano. Why can't you be less douch-ey? or less talented?
It's too bad about Galliano because he was talented!
he's such a genius, but it is so typical for geniuses to have such twisted minds like that! gotta have talent to handle the talent...
xoxo
Yea it is so sad...I love his stuff but he was SUCH a butthead!!! :(

the whole debacle makes me quite sad, he is so talented :(
I agree... still such a shame. Looks like such a fabulous collection!
He is a total artist ... he knows well the 'architecture' of clothes. To me Christian Dior has always been one of my favorite ruways.
How sad when people with so much talent don't know how to behave properly :(

These gowns are gorgeous, works of art really. It breaks my heart they were made by someone who is filled with such hatred. :(
That first gown is so amazing! I love it so much:)Have a fantastic weekend, darling
Kisses and see you Monday:)
It is such a shame that such genius belongs to such a douche, he really is talented and he just lost a lot of opportunity by being a complete and idiotic jerk.

Super Cooool !!
Too right; why do the talented ones go off the deep end?
that first dress is quite stunning; and who knows, why can't these people who seem to have it all, keep their shit together?
Chic on the Cheap
I am so sad for what happened to him! What a terrible way to end a career. beautiful dresses anyhow.

He's a talented designer and clearly very troubled, too.
I absolutely LOVE that first line: "Galliano is a bit of a douche..." :) You described it perfectly, while I'll totally miss him, he doesn't deserve to be "Sheen-ed". :) Love it.

You speak the truth.
While he is an insane douchebag, I will be reeling from the loss for a while because he really is that talented.

Beautiful pics! I really like your blog! Would you like to follow each other? Ciao from Italy! :)
I've been to New Haven because I have a friend who lives in Connecticut and when I lived in New York in the 60/70s she often invited me there. Nice pictures, I love the hairy dress! Following you from Sicily!
The whole thing is so sad from all accounts. What a waste of exquisite talent.
