Summer?

As you can tell, I am totally into summer. The “summer” weather here has been all over the map this year – sunny days with cold breezes, rain threatening constantly, etc – so wearing my usual all black has actually been even easier than usual this year.

Adventures With Eleanor

I took a week of vacation in late July/early August as Eleanor’s day home was closed – Eleanor and I spent the whole week having adventures and doing fun things, like visiting the university campus and my office there. She seemed confused as to why we were there…

Play Date at the Park

Worn to take Eleanor to a play date at the park on a day that was a little chilly and seemed to threaten rain at every turn. Somehow, now matter how much I tried to get it all off before we left, I wound up taking home about 5 cups of sand in the back seat with Eleanor, so vacuuming out my car later was a ton of fun.

Locations of Interest

One of these days I swear I will find a more creative place to take photos but about the most I can seem to manage lately is a few snaps in front of my neighbour's garage door while Eleanor sits 2 feet away, buckled in her car seat, perpetually 30 seconds away from starting to scream at me because I’m delaying her on her way to see her friends.

All the Frills: Kid's Furniture

I am obsessed with the various items of kid’s furniture that IKEA carries – the price point is perfect, the quality is pretty good considering the cost (and it’s nice to not be overly fussed about whether or not something gets damaged), and it integrates perfectly into the aesthetic of my house (in this case my living room).

Belated Father's Day

I wore this to a belated Father’s Day dinner with my Dad, at which I unashamedly devoured a burrito that was, I swear, almost the size of my head. I was pretty sure when I dressed in the morning that that was how my day was going to end, so I planned accordingly by dressing in comfy joggers, a loose fitting shirt, and an oversized sweater. Clearly I’m living my best life over here.

I Question My Glamour Level

So this blazer is a velvety fabric and the maxi dress is a silky fabric and I was told I looked glamourous (no word of a lie) when I rolled into the office in this outfit. And it was seriously the nicest thing I’ve heard about myself in a long time!

All the Frills: Mother's Day Rings

My ring collection got a little fuller following Mother’s Day (can I just get a new ring or two as a present every Mother’s Day?). Also, this is solid evidence of how far behind I am in my posts - I mean we're into August now...yikes.
