Westminster Abbey and Bath

I’m drawing to the end of my England pics but here are a few of my trip to Westminster Abbey and Bath. I’ve been to Westminster before (lovely but super crowded – although this time around they were displaying the head of the funeral effigy of Anna of Denmark, which I actually discussed in my MA thesis after a long series of correspondence with archivists at Westminster so it was pretty neat to see the real thing) but Bath was a first and I really loved it there. Bath Abbey was extraordinarily beautiful and full of gorgeous memorial plaques built into the walls and the Roman Baths were really an incredible sight to see. Plus there was a local fashion museum (photos of that to come)! Oh, and at Westminster I got to spend some quality time with, purportedly, the oldest door in England. Exciting times!

I still haven't been to Westminster Abbey - the high admission price always makes me snort in disgust and go somewhere else. I really should just suck it up and visit. Anyway, exactly how old is Britain's oldest door?

I think it was from 900 (roughly). It's actually kind of hellish in the Abbey itself (crammed, CRAMMED with tourists and near impossible to actually walk easily because of all the people) but it's still amazing to see and some of the tombs in there are insane!

We visited Bath too and I loved it. All that architecture from ages ago!

everything about your trip reminded me of Jane Austen's book where she mentioned Bath and Westminster Abbey. How historical that place must be!

HOW DO THEY KNOW THAT IS THE OLDEST DOOR IN BRITAIN!? Hahah, it's great!

My grandmother went to school in Bath, and last time I was in England I made a stop there. Thanks for reminding me of Bath's beauty!

I'm a little suspicious of the oldest door claim as well. But I'm suspicious of just about everything!
