Who doesn’t love layering in the fall? Shirt: GAP / Vest: H&M / Scarf: F21 / Shoes: Steve Madden / Jeans: Thrifted.
Also, what did people think of the Alexander McQueen S/S 2011 runway show? Here are a few of my favorite looks from the collection (all photos by Jonas Gustavsson and Peter Stigter for the LA Times). I personally really enjoyed Sarah Burton’s work – I felt it had the same theatricality and spectacle that make McQueen such a favorite but also incorporate a softer feel, almost more sober.

The addition of the waistcoat makes this look work perfectly. Love the shoes. Re:my dress, yes, it's a kind of houndstooth
I may be the answer to your question. I think I'm the one who doesn't LOVE layering. I never can get just the right mix and proportion and at some point I just end up looking bulky. I'm all for a sweater, but I haven't really mastered the way of wearing more than 2 layered pieces. Second, as for McQueen - I loved the collection! I was really thrilled that she did such a good job with the collection, I think it was a great tribute to the late designer.
her work is definitely softer and more. . ethereal i guess? mcqueen always had their dramatism, eccentricity and largerthanlife-ness.
So cute..I love your shoes and those dresses are fab!
Speaking from my own experience in Canada layering is not just a luxury we have in fall/ winter, but it's a necessity for survival. Coming from a tropical country, I am not very good at it, so your smart layering was a source of great inspiration for me.
Personally my all time favorite designer has been Alexander McQueen. I am actually pleasantly surprised at this collection, perhaps his design team understood him really well. This collection is very wearable but yet has significant influence of the McQueen extravagance.
On another note. I'd really love for us to stay in touch. How would you feel about following and/ or doing a link exchange with my blog? I'd be more than happy to return the favor.
Love from Toronto, Canada

Love that vest, Courtney! Very studious chic! The McQueen rocks, for sure! XX!
Your little blazer vest is so cute and sharp looking!
I loved McQueen, I think Sarah Burton dd an amazng job. I can't even imagine the pressure she must have felt but I think he would be very proud of her. She paid homage to the house's history while bringing something new to the collection.
i'm a big fan of layers too! really like the vest.
