It’s almost that time of year again for me, the time when out of sheer frustration at the East Coast humidity I chop off all my hair and opt for a cute bob so I can get it off the back of my neck. I usually make it until around June before I just get too frustrated. This year I’m also thinking of mixing it up even more with a dye job. Naturally, I am a dirty blonde and I’ve been dyeing it dark for years now. In anticipation of my annual summer cut, I have not dyed my hair since Christmas and am trying to let the black color grow out a bit because I’m thinking of going a light red shade. To that end, you may have noticed the somewhat less than lovely “skunk stripe” of light colored hair I have running down the middle of my scalp.

See, this is what’s nice about being on a writing fellowship and working from home, my hair can look like utter crap for months and no one can stop me. That’s right folks, I’m my own worst enemy! Anyways, here are a few hair inspiration shots that I’ve been crushing on as I wait in anticipation for the humidity to become just too much for me to bear.
I also move into my new apartment in less than a month and so I couldn’t resist a few dream interior inspiration photos…not that my place will ever look this elegant, but a girl can dream can’t she?

I love the view from your new place!!! I am so envious that you have so many trees and how hilly the place looks. Being in IL, everything here is FLAT and disgusting. I cannot wait to move to a place with more interesting topography.

I love the first look, love it so much and you wouldn't even had to color it that much because the shade maybe close to the 'original' you. I envy people who can wear short hair, you need to have 'that' special face for that, I've been wanting to go short for sooo long but really feel super scare!

I love being a red head! Light coppery red is my favorite. No matter the actual shade it is colored, the end result on me after a week or so is always copper. I say go for the red.

You have an amazing view! Gosh, it's beautiful! I think you'd look good with a cropped cut. I'm contemplating cutting my hair as well. Nothing drastic but at least 5". It's getting really unmanageable!

I feel your pain, I used to be a work at home girl and my skunk stripe was going fairly strong until recently. I really like both of the haircuts the blonde's are rocking. I think you could pull either of them off cause your beautiful! I love the view from your new place, it's like a wilderness wonderland!

I never would have pegged you as a blonde, haha. Nevertheless, the light red shade sounds like a fun colour to try! The second and third cuts featured are my favorites. I'm excited to see what the final result of the cut/colour is!

I secretly always wanted to cut my hair short and bleach it, becoming an Agyness Deyn wannabe or Madonna in 1986. But I also like my hair long so have never been brave enough to do it. You have some really nice views from your new place, seems like a quiet and relaxing neighbourhood.

What a view! I love your choice in furniture, I would love to have such supple items decorating my place. I also have a similar natural hair color, I've dyed it many colors since I was in 7th grade, my natural color doesn't suit me much.
