Marc

My Marc Jacobs skirt makes another appearance (these photos are actually from a few weeks ago, though. Oops)…best clothing swap find ever. For reals you guys. I am also starting to feel the stress of my impending move. I’ve done some packing but not nearly enough and my goal of finishing the first draft of my very final dissertation chapter seems ever more unattainable. I need a cocktail…

skirt: Marc Jacobs / shoes: Gap / top: F21

Also, I had a CRAZY weekend that I’ve just got to tell you about. I bought a wine juice box and went to a BBQ…it was awesome. Then I went downtown for some beers and found a nearly new camera all wrapped up in a sweater just sitting in the middle of the sidewalk with a bunch of crazy underground dance club photos on it. Insane. Then I went to a house party (okay, I basically crashed a house party where I knew one person) and single-handedly kick started an awesome dance party. Then this girl got seriously drunk. Like alcohol poisoning, choke on your own vomit drunk. And like 10 people were surrounding her and most of them didn’t even seem to know her and they were all like “I don’t know her…just get her out of here…just leave her outside.” And the one friend she seemed to have was all like “she’s fine, I just need to put her to bed, all she's had are two Long Island ice teas.” I suggested that someone call 911. And was promptly shouted down because these ass clowns didn’t want to get in trouble or call attention to their party. So I had to get all up in people’s grills and finally succeeded in finding a cell phone and called 911 myself. Seriously, that girl was messed up and people just wanted to leave her on the curb. She was totally incoherent. So not only did I get to drink wine from a juice box but I like to think I helped save a life and narrowly avoided being in a plot line for a Lifetime: Television for Women movie about a young co-ed at an Ivy League school who dies at a house party and a bunch of privileged jags let it happen and then help cover it up.

Holy shit, that IS one crazy weekend. It's a good thing you had some balls (well, you know) and some brains to avoid a Lifetime movie true story. But your a girl after my heart with the box wine the the skirt.

Good thing for that girl that you were around. Must've been quite surreal to have it happening in front of you

WOW! That is a crazy weekend! It is a good thing that you were there to call 911. That girl is lucky! I must agree that that skirt is Completely Fabulous!! I Love Marc Jacobs.

Goodness, that was crazy! So what happened to the girl? Is she going to be alright? And what happened to the camera? Did you take it?

Oh my, so many questions. I feel like I just read the script to a juicy reality TV episode. haha :)

I love your red skirt. It's beautiful. And I think you were a class act for helping that girl. How awful her own "friend" didn't even care enough about her to do something!

Okay, I LOVE that skirt. I'm drawn to anything that has Marc's name sewn into it, but that particular one is stunning! The cut is great on you!

And good for you for ignoring those dweebs and calling 911. The whole party scene at various universities seems to have a distorted view on morality. I had a similar experience once and eventually stood down (luckily, the girl was fine), so I'm glad that you had the lady balls to say screw 'em.

I took the camera FYI...I need to make lost signs and go post them now!

kudos to you for sticking to your guns and helping that girl... Ive seen it happen, somehow party people lose all track on being responsible not only for themselves, but towards other people, and people that could really need a hand. Cray weekend indeed xxx

What a find that skirt was! Excellent.

There is nothing better than going to a party where you know no one and start a dance party - so liberating. On the flipside, there is nothing worse than a drunk girl that no one will help! I was the DD one night and this dude no one knew was wasted crawling around in the snow and no one would help him! I finally got his name and looked his parents up in the phonebook and they came to retrieve him. He could have froze at the rate he was going.

Longest comment ever! Sheeesh.
