Ramona Singer Pinot

Remember how I said I was on a shopping ban because I had to save up for a suit for job market stuff this coming year? Well, I bought one! I went to Banana Republic and spent hours trying on virtually every cut of pant, skirt, and jacket until I found the perfect suit and then I went home and waited for a sale. And I did not have to wait long because less than a week later Banana Republic had a HUGE online sale and I was able to get pants, a skirt, a jacket, and this lovely silk pink top to wear with it all for close to 50% off! Yeah, I made out like a bandit. Maybe I should give up this whole historian thing and become a professional deal hunter … a coupon Sherpa if you will.

top: Banana Republic / cropped pants: Ann Taylor / shoes: Converse / ring: House of Harlow

Any Real Housewives of New York fans out there? You'll appreciate my wine...

Also, I’m obsessed with Free People’s new Venetian inspired campaign. Gorgeous!

In unrelated news, my plans for the coming year are evidently going to involve a lot more travel than I thought. I will be presenting chapters of my dissertation at various conferences throughout the year in Denver, Dallas Fort Worth, and Washington DC as well as taking a trip to a conference in Chicago where (I hope) I will be interviewed for a few jobs. So it's going to be a busy year that will hopefully feature some posts on academic conference style and packing.

What a great score Courtney!! You could SO be a coupon sherpa, I'll have to remember to try this "wait for a sale" tactic, how brilliant to find the items online!! And YES the Free People campaign is seriously amazing! Love it!! And congrats to an exciting year. xo

Ohh no, I want that shirt, it is absolutely beautiful, the color, cut, everything! Yes, let me know if you take a change of profession because I want your deals ... like those oxfords that you found not long ago.
Free People Campaigns are usually very cool, but I like too that this one is so different and glamorous.

That is literally the best feeling in the world! I love finding a good deal, especially when it's something I've been needing (or wanting) for so long. Love the pink blouse, it looks great!
