Summer Days

My husband’s mother is coming for a visit next week! It’s the first time that’s traveled from Rocky Mountain House, Canada to visit us here in Connecticut and I’m very excited. We’re planning a trip to NYC to show her the sights (and decided to go with my idea of getting tickets to one of the tourists buses because if I absolutely must see things like Times Square again you better believe I’m doing it from the comfort of an air conditioned tour bus with a slightly obnoxious tour guide).

This is just a pretty basic summer neutrals look – this top (very loose and breezy) is perfect for the heat and nothing beats a nude shoe in my book.

Oh, those nude wedges are fab! I covet them.

I would be jealous of your trip to NYC, but I'm going to Seattle next week. I've never been, so I'm really excited!

I love walking around NYC, but a tour bus sounds pretty nice when it is hot out.

Love your capri pants. They are adorable. I agree Times Square in the July and August can be so miserable. You need that air conditioned tour bus.

really diggin' the shoes. my hubby was just in NYC over the weekend and he said they changed up Times Square to make it less crowded--did stuff with the roads, etc. i'd have to see it for myself to really know what he means by that, but he said it was definitely less congested.

If my mother-in-law ever wanted to come visit, I would move.
But that is because she is the Bitch Monster of Death.
BMOD, for short.

hehe, good choice with the tour buses, I would opt for the same if I had to take my mom anywhere in this heat! Love the basic summer outfit! Must look cuter with your red hair!

I love NY in summer. Nice, have a great time.
Your shoes are beautiful! I love the color and the wedge of course and that be casual and somehow elegant. Love them.
I got a similar pair from BC shoes, can't tell you how many times per week I wear them.

I love the wedges - I've been on the hunt for a good nude shoe.

Also, have fun in NYC! I can totally relate to your feelings towards Times Square - it's SUPER magical at first but once you keep going back, you realize it's just a tiny Starbucks, a bunch of billboards and sub-par stores, and some sketch artists. Hahah.

yes AC please...I'm coping with horribly high temperatures outside and not even an electric fan at home... but you already read about me moaning about the heat on my site, so thanks for that lovely-- and maybe I should listen to you and also give my lower back a rest and stop going for ridiculously high heels :) loving those wedges by the way xxx

How fun! New York is going to be swelterrrringgg!

It's amazing how many things I took for granted about living in Canada. Very glad to be home! Let me know when you're making the pilgrimage back.
