The Comfortable Mover

If you follow me on Facebook and Twitter you know that I am moving right now. And moving sucks. So I’m opting for comfortable clothes that I don’t have to think a lot about. Like boots and a blazer. Easy.

pants: RW Winter and Co. / blouse: Theory / blazer: F21 / necklace: Monserat de Lucca via Shopbop / boots: Aldo / ring: H&M

In unrelated news, I've started writing lectures for the class that I'll be teaching in January. I am anticipating hitting the annual American Historical Association conference in January in New Orleans and will still be juggling my 50+ hours a week job and so I thought it would be a good idea to get a head start on lecture writing so that I am not totally overwhelmed in January. And, in order to hopefully boost my productivity, some academic friends and I have started a little online work collective. They're based in London and New Haven and are hard at work on job applications and dissertation writing and so we created a Google doc with work schedules for ourselves and we're going to log hours and monitor each other so that we all stick with our work plan goals. Let the great experiment begin!

I just finished moving too! I'm unpacking all my life's possessions, painting furniture and eating really weird food from the cabinets. My outfits as of late are way less cute than this! You rock boots, I'm in sweatpants. :)

An online work collective sounds like a great idea.

I really love the leather detail on your F21 blazer too. When I was moving I opted for leggings and sweaters.

This is without a doubt the most glamourous moving outfit I've ever seen - you look like you're going out on the town, not packing boxes! I love the detail on your blazer especially :)

That blazer and it's cuffs are the stuff dreams are made of. Best of luck juggling the new schedule and deadlines, I have a feeling you'll be just fine!
