I Have a Tangled Relationship with Costco

For some bizarro reason I always feel compelled to wear a fun dress when I hit up Costco for some bulk toilet paper and nut buying. It’s so goddamned depressing in there that I just want to show up in a really happy sartorial mood, even though it often results in me looking like a total whack-a-doo when I roll into that place. Although I do think my facial expression in this photo accurately captures my feelings about Costco.

Seriously..wholesale shopping is just crazy but sometimes it's just a great deal...better than cutting up coupons!

You made me laugh. But I know what you mean about Costco. :) Great dress.

So true - sometimes I find myself dressing up for the most mundane, boring things just because it's so necessary to feel a little teeny tiny bit better about having to run that errand! Love that dress on you.

I hate the costco. yes, I like huge vats of olive oil, and never ending spools of ribbon (yes, I go to costco for ribbon) but it is a depressing, awful place to shop. I like that you dress up for it.

I feel the exact same way about Costco - it's so dreary in there! Love the dress, it's so NOT dreary! ; )

P.S. I was thinking about you during this whole Boston bombing thing, and hoping your friends were all okay...

I had never been to one until a few weeks ago.

COSTCO! Dude, I haven't been in one in ages. We don't have one here, and the closest one is about 3 hours away. Good thing too because I would have a stockpile of nuts and fruits that would last me YEARS.

LOVE the dress!

Oh Costco... if there is a place that gives a more dismal picture of the state of humanity, I can't think of it, although Super Store is not a lot better. At least it gives you an excuse to take your pretty dresses out for a spin :) This polkadot number is so cheerful and fun!

More people need to dress up to do "mundane" chores. I get sad when I see people wearing their "given up on life pants".

It's funny that you dress up for Costco. I like going there for the samples.

Wow, places like a Costco is so overwhelming for me at times. But, I used to have to go there to pick up items for my mother's catering. I have not been there in ages. You look pretty and I love the dress! x/Madison

That dress is very pretty. A fun dress for Spring. I have never been in Costco. I am unsure if there is even one in Kentucky.
