Well, the heat here in Edmonton eased up enough for me to feel like a normal person and not a hot sweaty mess when I went to work (or at least it had when I took these photos - the temperature has now risen back to an ungodly level and I'm thanking Satan/Cthulhu daily that my AC is installed at home). But it was still hot enough when I took these photos (you can see the misery on my face) that, at 4 pm, I left my office and went immediately to an air conditioned library on campus to spend a little time doing some research for a new project I’ve just started on the language of insult and combative strategies in interpersonal conflicts between early modern gentlewomen. Yeah, it’s a mouthful but it’s keeping me off the streets and in an air-conditioned environment so I’m running with it!
Also, I swear when I was at work I actually tucked my little nylon socks into my shoes better so that they didn't show but walking home from the bus stop I guess my foot shifted so now it's sock city. Oops.

Come by soon!

Ooh I love this outfit!! You are a brave woman for wearing black in the summer heat but thank goodness for AC! Xo, D
Firstly, this outfit is SO gorgeous!! Love it to bits. And, holly hell it's hot, is right. We've had a major heat wave this week and sweating all day, everyday. I might be working from the pool today! ;) xoxo
While I think this outfit is completely fantastic (and definitely high up there on the all time faves list) no wonder you were sweltering in long pants, a jacket and closed in shoes!
Your new project sounds really interesting and a bit fun, and camping out in the a/c is always a solid plan when the heat gets to be too much.
Chic on the Cheap
Love the title of this post ; ) You look hot in this outfit Courtney!
This outfit is... pretty much perfection. Especially that blazer. I'm pretty sure I ramble on about how amazing it is every time you wear it, but seriously, the leather detail on the sleeves gets me every time and it's even better with a leopard top underneath!
xox,
Cee

Love your blazer, it's absolutely stunning! X
Loving the leopard girl (my favorite print!). Such a chic look!

I love your "I hate the heat" face. And this outfit, of course. Dude, your new research topic sounds ace! and I wouldn't even have guessed there was enough source material for that subject.
