Pleats in the Heat

This pleated skirt was a recent Value Village find – it’s a few sizes too big but the length is right and I sort of like the idea of having a loose fitting skirt for when the summer heat really hits. Sold!

Speaking of summer heat, my helpmeet and I are finding that our new house gets very, very hot. Like so hot that we slept in the basement a few nights last week and all my attempts to do some sustained work on a new research project were frustrated because I couldn't focus. Luckily, our place is also all fitted out for central AC and so, over the weekend, we broke down and used the last bit of the money we saved for moving to buy a unit - it gets installed on Thursday. The countdown's on!

Wow, I am loving this bright skirt! Of course turquoise is my favorite color and the swingy pleats just make it the perfect summer skirt.

Glad you are going to get some relief from the heat. As much as I love summer, somedays you do need a little respite.

I love that you wore it with leather! He he. Such a great Summer color too.
And loose skirts make it easy to stuff your face with food too ;)

Summer in Alberta without air conditioning? I can't imagine. Breaking down and buying a unit was definitely the right decision! In the meantime, though, I hope this pretty skirt is keeping you cool... ish ;)

I so very much LOVE the color and length of that skirt on you! Oh man... I cannot buy a house that doesn't have A/C. Especially here in the Midwest. I wouldn't even take one with a window unit. It's just way too hot! I am so sorry to hear ya'll had to sleep in the basement. But hey-- you're getting a unit so everything'll be OK soon!
