I am so glad that I pounced on this jacket when I saw it at Winners. Because it’s warm and looks good, sure. But mostly because it reminds of one of Lenny Briscoe’s jackets (remember the glory that was Law and Order?).

All the Frills: Happy Festivus!

The last of my Festivus posts, seeing as how it's tomorrow. Today I’m featuring a few of my favourite history themed ornaments (some of them aren’t really history themed but ones I picked up on my history adventures in Scotland and England). Sadly, these are only a small selection of my overall collection…I have a problem guys.

I'm also posting a day early, as it's Christmas Eve, so I can take this opportunity to wish everyone a very happy holiday!

• Tootsie is one of my all time favourite movies. I know it sounds totally lame but I swear my early feminist consciousness was awakened by watching Tootsie, the Golden Girls, Designing Women, and Murphy Brown as a kid.

Fine Coats

You guys, I am a woman who appreciates a good coat, fine chandeliers, and mediocre boxed wine. Someone engrave that on my tombstone please.

Warm and Bright

I managed to make it home just as the sun was setting (you can sort of see the long shadows in the photo) – this is a win for me! As you can see, I’m trying to brighten things up with a colourful jacket. I think it’s working.

The Living Room Photo Shoot

Well, it’s officially dark at 5 pm now…so get ready for a lot of photos in my living room (sorry guys, it’s dark when I leave for work in the morning and dark when I get home!). Hell, in these top two photos I'm still wearing my jacket and gloves.

Anyways, I remain smitten with this plaid midi skirt that I got at Old Navy (of all places). It’s perfect for work and works well with tights and a chunkier heel, now that cold weather is upon is.

Is It a Blanket Or a Coat?

I think this jacket is one of my favourites in my closet. I bought it at the end of the fall season last year and so never got a chance to wear it much but I donned it almost every day last week and I just love it. It’s basically like wearing a blanket. So, you know, perfect. And even though this were photos were taken before full on winter and all the associated snow set in, the temperature has actually been moderate enough that I can still wear it!

I have a mild obsession with Christmas. Not really the holiday so much as all the decorations. I tend to go a little nuts. As evidence, I present you with the following.
