All the Frills: The Struggle Is Real ... I Can't Stop Tinkering

So, on a rather crazy whim about a month ago, the helpmeet and I decided to buy a bit of new furniture, sell some other pieces, and rejig our place a bit. Of course all the furniture we were selling sold in the space of three days and it took close to a month to get the replacement pieces picked out, delivered, set up, etc. Our bedroom remains a work in progress and we basically lived like squatters for a bit. But I’m pretty pleased with the living room. The changes are all relatively minor (a new coffee table and sideboard, an extended gallery wall with an extra bookshelf (and doors!) underneath, some knick knacks and pictures rearranged, etc) but I really like the way it looks now.

First of all, dogs are awesome. Second of all I love how you've decorated! You have such a great book collection all complimented with antlers, busts, and mini chess sets? My heart is swooning right now!

you are a decorating queen!!! I have NOT-- I repeat-- NOT completed a room in my house yet. Though my library is coming together really well (just need a rug and maybe 2 ottomans/ side tables) and then on to the bedroom!

I think I need to take a page from your decorating book. I never actually complete decorating any of the rooms in our place - I have good intentions but no follow through whatsoever...!

That's great the stuff you wanted to get rid of went so fast - but I can also see how that might be frustrating to have everything displaced before you can find replacements worthy of your new home.
