Commissioned

These were taken just four weeks before my estimated due date (which of course never actually came). At this point the nursery was all set up, I’d a lot of preparatory meetings with my doula, and I basically felt about as prepared as I could be. Scared (pregnancy was pretty terrifying for me, especially as my due date loomed), but prepared. Of course everything went sideways for me, which makes it such an interesting experience for me to look back at photos like this and remember where I was mentally and emotionally when they were taken. In a lot of ways this blog is like a time capsule of my pregnancy.

In other news, I was recently approached by a digital magazine to write an essay for them on male and female aristocratic honour in the early modern period (one of the topics covered in my monograph). I'm really excited to have a project to work on!

Yea, I cant even imagine what I would feel like if I was close to giving birth. But hey, at least you didn't have to worry for much longer, haha.
And woohoo!!! Yay for essay writing!

It's kind of a lovely thing when you can look back at photos that you certainly wouldn't have taken if not for the blog, and relive all the memories associated with that day.

This is the first picture ever that I have seen on the blog where you look really, really pregnant.
I think its interesting how we write something on the blog post to accompany the images, yet it is only us who can really have the entire behind the scenes feel.

I genuinely can't imagine where you must have been, mentally and emotionally, when these photos were taken. Considering the level of anxiety I get over stupid, mundane things like meeting deadlines and keeping content up to date - I don't think I would have made it.

Very exciting about your new project!

I can only imagine you must have been terrified! You look super put together and amazing though.
Sounds like a fun project to keep you even busier
