Poker Night

We don’t get out a ton now that Eleanor is here (obviously) but, as I mentioned in my last post, my amazing parents are incredibly helpful when it comes to offering to babysit so we can get some time out every so often. Recently that involved us heading to a friends place to play poker. I seriously had the best time! I had a lot less fun when we got home at 1 am and Eleanor was up and ready to go at 5:10 am, but I guess that’s the price one pays…totally worth it by the way. And of course it was super dark outside by the time we left so I unfortunately was only able to get photos in my dimly lit entry way.

The lack of sleep alone is one of the major reasons I've always been convinced parenthood is not for me. On the best days, eight hours of sleep isn't enough - I have a hard time imagining being able to put a positive spin on getting 4.5 hours! That said, it's awesome you had a support network that allows you to still get out and have independent, adult fun.

Love that velvet dress!!! Sometimes it's worth it to stay out super late and have fun even though you know you'll hate it having to get up early for the baby, hehe

I love the velvet dress, perfect for a date night. It's so good that you're parents are there to help you guys out, that's really helpful.
