Back in the Groove

I am absolutely loving being back at work for an afternoon or two a week. It’s so indescribably wonderful to get to dress up in actual nice clothes, take a solo car ride and listen to podcasts, and then get to interact with adults and exercise my brain a bit. Sometimes I had my doubts that I’d be able to make the arrangement work but I am beyond happy that it did.

Anyways, this is what I wore into the office for a meeting recently. I absolutely love this floral printed dress (it’s the long sleeves and the fact that it’s a pattern on black fabric) but it is very curve hugging and unforgiving. My stomach in still a bit of a disaster area (it basically looks like a deflated balloon, if I can be so bold as to plant that horrifying image in your mind) so I opted for a long jacket to give me some added coverage.

I do love that dress! And it looks great with the coat as well! Those darn post-pregnancy stomachs, haha!

I don't have kids and I work from home, but I totally get what you mean about going into an office and having adult conversations. When I did work in an office, one of my favorite parts was actually the morning commute (about 20 mins) because I was able to zone out listening to podcasts and Audible books. It was grand.

And you look fab in this back to work look. You should know that!

I love my job, but I totally miss getting all dressed up. It feels so good!! This dress is lovely and you look great. I'm glad it's working out with going back to work.

I've worked from home for so long that I genuinely don't remember what it was like to get dressed for work. I haven't had a traditional group of colleagues, since we basically all work from satellite locations, for a long time, but there was a period when I had an awesome group that I worked with, most of whom are still my friends - and I will admit that they made getting dressed for work every morning feel worth it.

I'm sure it is really nice to have a chance to be with adults and have a little time to yourself. I can't imagine how hard it is to stay home with a baby all day everyday.

I was just reading another blogger who's just had a baby and she said she was doing waist training to help defeat the deflated balloon. Have you though about trying that? Here is her post http://meagansmoda.com/2018/02/02/how-to-shrink-belly-after-pregnancy/

Beautiful dress !
I can imagine it would get boring after a while being home alone with the baby, although I am sure she keeps you busy :)
