I Miss Winter!
We basically went straight from winter to full-on summer this year and there wasn't a ton of time for transitional spring dressing. And while we're actually currently under an excessive heat advisory right now, less than 6 weeks ago it was still frigid and icy cold here. Which meant that, until relatively recently, I was still draping myself in comfort clothing items to ward off the cold. As you may or may not know about me, there are few things I dislike as much as hot weather and summer. So I am actually a bit nostalgic for the colder weather of mid-April that birthed this outfit.

On the Fence
I remain on the fence about this top. I love the front and love the back, in theory, but the “tail” sort of runs a bit too long for my liking and I feel like a circus ring master or something. It was a pricier piece but I’ve worn in enough times that I feel like I’ve gotten my money’s worth (guys, I’m real frugal…real frugal). I’m still on the fence though…I keep thinking that maybe the next time I wear it I’ll like it more or feel more comfortable with it. Alternately I don’t know why I’m agonizing over it so much...

All the Frills: Ten Months
I couldn’t resist doing Eleanor’s ten month photos in this amazing little jacket I got her (and which I featured a couple of weeks back). I really, really want the adult version of this jacket.

I'm a Snooze
It was still pretty chilly out in mid-April (seriously, it was like -5 and there was nasty wind) when I took these. I spent the better part of three days living in this black cowl type scarf – boring, I know, but it was just too bitterly cold not to. At least I added some interest via jewelry. I mean I should get partial credit for that, no?

All the Frills: Loving My Redone Space
Well, this is it – we finally finished moving around/swapping all the furniture and hanging up all our pictures. Getting it all done with Eleanor in the mix was definitely a challenge but I am so happy with the way this little house refresh turned out.

- The cult of male genius is straight up dangerous.
- These job application stories are pure hilarity.
- I guess the lesson here is don’t try to cheat in a photography contest.
- So I’m pretty sure I’ve found my dream house. And I have a backup.
- The Terror is a favourite book of mine and I am just riveted by the TV show.

Too Cute To Resist
I was hoping to get more photos of my outfit but Eleanor in her bear suit on our walk (obviously these were from last month, when it was still pretty cold here) was just too cute to resist cuddling with. I seriously can’t believe how big she’s getting!

All the Frills: Baby's First Florals
I really want there to be an adult version of this jacket I bought for Eleanor … this thing is just the best!

The Leopard Nevers Changes Its Spots
I will never tire of leopard. NEVER!!!!! Especially when they sell this dress at the grocery store (seriously) and it was $6. I’m a very cheap person. Really.

All the Frills: Decorated Hallway
My little home refresh continues! We used to just have a little tiny table in this hallway but swapped that out for this larger cabinet so that we have additional space to store baby toys, etc. It’s definitely a bulkier piece of furniture so we opted to stick with the white in order to minimize the size a bit. I’m overall pretty pleased with how this is coming together.

Weekend Reading:
- There is at least some justice for women lately – they caught the Golden State Killer (I’ve been riveted by this case for a couple of years now and the latest developments are just mind blowing) and Bill Cosby is finally getting a small measure of what’s coming to him. It’s ridiculous how much his accusers have had to endure.
- This is a good piece on the various myths of consent foisted on us by pop culture.

- This house is very weird. And I want to live in it.

Sleeves, Sleeves, Sleeves!
I’m committed to upping my sleeve game. But at what point does it stop being a fashion statement and start being a lifestyle? Asking for a friend…

Ode to a Sweater
This sweater, one of my personal favourites, is starting to show its age. The stitching is starting to fall apart, threads are constantly hanging, etc, etc. I’m really hoping I’ll be able to find something similar – the front is faux leather but the back is this really great sort of sheer knit material. It's one of my closet go-tos and I will be very sad to see it go.
