Balancing Hot and Cold

There wasn’t too much that was special about this – my city was briefly placed under a heat advisory due to the ungodly hot weather but my office building doesn’t care about that and ensured it was still incredibly cold inside all day. So I went for something that would be moderately cool (a sheer layered dress that’s loose fitting so has a lot of air circulation and sandals) but also offered a bit of warmth (leggings (and those were also for modesty’s sake with the sheer, short dress) and a blazer). Honestly, I made pretty good choices as I was reasonably comfortable in the heat for the odd bits of the day when I was outside but I was also not overly cold in my icy office.

Yea, what is it with offices being SO COLD! At least meet somewhere in the middle so its not winter inside and summer outside, haha
Loving the outfit though!

There is something somewhat hilarious about dressing for summer on the Canadian prairies - because no matter how hot it is outside, and it is often hot enough for an advisory, the indoors is always blissfully, frigidly air conditionned so we can wear our favourite winter pieces. After visiting Halifax this past week, where air conditioning is not prevalent, my appreciation for this has increased ten fold.

I'm in the same boat- KC is a total sweatbox this time of year, but my office is ALWAYS freezing! Love the look you landed on!

There is so many problems at work about people messing with our thermostat, half the people are freezing and half are too hot. It’s so frustrating! I love your outfits solution to the heat/office appropriate wear

For such an uncomfortable situation, you pulled a great outfit! I never know what to do on the warm days because a coworker always sets the AC like she misses Christmas, on top of the Alps. And I am the most cold-sensitive person that I've ever encountered. Style is really hard to attain in those situations, but your idea is just genious!

Sub zero A/C is always an annoying part of summer, but this looks like a perfect solution with easy to shed layers when you leave the office.
