All the Frills: Uncharted Territory

I am about to embark on what is, for me (no one else, just me), a bold experiment. I am an inveterate planner. As in I cannot live without my day timer (jammin’ on my planner, for Parks and Rec fans, is basically my motto). I write down and plan everything in there. It’s ridiculous – like I literally schedule time in November of every year to buy a new planner and fill it out with set deadlines for the coming year (when to get my Festivus decorations up, when to make a dental appointment, etc – yes, I’m that anal and silly). But, this year, I’ve downsized. I’ve gone from a large, trust format to this very, very (for me) streamlined and smaller day timer. And I’m scared. I’ve already started to fill it out in very small, very neat handwriting (there’s no margin for error in something with so little space) and already had to resort to inserting post-its with more details written out in some places. Downsizing my day timer is very new and very scary … someone tell me I’m not totally nuts, please?

Haha, its not crazy! I do have a planner I got for free but I have no use for it really since I don't have many appointments and can just put stuff in my phone calendar. If I was working in an office still I would find it more useful to plan out like that

Your new planner looks cute! I hope you can adjust to the smaller size! If I didn't write everything down I'd forget it too, haha! I try to put everything in my phone calendar now - we have a shared family one and that's the best way to see what's going on with everyone!

Hope that you are having a lovely weekend! :)

When you were talking about your big planner I was visualizing some huge three ring binder - but 2020 doesn't seem like a HUGE adjustment in size, I think you can do it! And it's so pretty!

Oh my goodness. I am nervous looking at your tiny 2020 planner. As someone who lives and dies by their 18-month Moleskine planner, which gives a full, hour-by-hour page for every single day of the year (and which I fill, hour-by-hour, for almost every single day of the year), I can't imagine going down to something this size. But I'm very intrigued to hear how it goes for you!
