Work Wear

Shortly before leaving New Haven I decided to invest in some work wear for the forthcoming academic job market cycle (not to mention my efforts to land a non-academic post). I’d hire me (sans studded belt of course), how about you?

pants: Express / shirt: Express / shoes: Steve Madden / belt: I’ve had it since I was 15 so I can’t remember at all

You are looking sharp, Courtney! I would totally hire you, especially because of the studded belt, but only if you hire me back.

I'd hire you avec belt!

I love your ring holder on your night stand.

The studded belt would be the cherry on top of the ice cream sundae for me. I would hire you based on that alone.

Oh I would hire you in a heartbeat WITH the studded belt!

I don't know, i feel like the belt gives you some personality, while the neutral basics alone aren't particularly memorable.

I'd wear the belt and make an impression.

Your look has edge! I also love the way the trousers fit. Of course I'd hire you! I'd also agree with the above comment on the neutrals. But, things are so very different in today's world! You look great!-xo

I'd hire you because of the studded belt! It gives the look more of your personality.

This is great office ensemble - including the studded belt! I think it's important to do a little something to stand out in the corporate world, and your belt would set you apart just perfectly :)

My favorite part, here, is that you worked in the studded belt. (: I used to wear those AAALL the time.

This is my first visit to your blog and I am captivated. Love your style. This outfit is great, with or without the belt...but the belt is a big WOW.

I also love the pictures on your blog header.
