So I’ve started on a new academic project (I’ve mentioned it here before, it’s a piece about strategies of insult among early modern elite women) and the research has just been intense. I’ve been going back through all the primary source material I amassed for my PhD dissertation (I only used about 50% of it in the actual dissertation and book project, so I thought I’d see what I had sitting there unused that might work for this current project) and it basically just led me down a rabbit hole of countless side projects. It was great fun (I’m a researcher at heart) but I lost an entire weekend on it! Them’s the breaks I guess.
These photos were taken a few days before Edmonton got hit with a delicious cold snap (we saw a bit of snow and, as I write this, it's -1 outside). I am so happy that proper fall weather is here - but it's weird to imagine myself being outside right now without sleeves.

Yes, read you guys were hit with snow. Crazy! Fall weather is definitley making it's way here too... and I love that tank such a fun pop of colour!! Happiest Thursday, love! xo
I kinda enjoyed the cold snap here too, but I'm looking forward to a bit of a warmer weekend. Maybe we can pull off the no-jacket thing just a few more times?!? Xo, Sarah
I love that top! And those pants fit you like a glove!
I wish I could lose myself in something as interesting as that...my weekends are lost watching tv and being a slug...

You look awesome in red! Wow, I can't believe it's already snowing in Edmonton!
It snowed? You must have been jumping for joy!
Those pants look amazing on you, and I always love seeing a bit of bold color.
Plus, it's not really a lost weekend if you enjoy what you are doing.
Chic on the Cheap
I love the way your hair is growing out - it looks so lovely! As for losing a week to research, I know the feeling. When I was writing my book, I wasted countless hours... weekends... months... on research rabbit holes, some of which lead to nothing. But since you got snow - I'm still so blown away by that - I guess it was time as well spent as it could have been ;)
xox,
Cee
well that's just how it goes, right? I so admire that you keep on doing all this research while working a non-research job full time AND blogging! You are awesome poss!
OH my gosh how are you standing outside in a tanktop in that weather! You have some strong skin, girl! Also, your dissertation topic sounds so interesting! Best of luck with it! xx
