Nothing To See Here

Just going to drop Eleanor off and then a morning walk in my ode to Beetle Juice blazer … you know, the usual.

All the Frills: The Veiled Lady

Shaun and Eleanor (mostly Shaun) gifted me this amazing bust for Mother’s Day. It’s a replica of an iteration of Monti’s Veiled Lady and, I have to say, it fits right in with the rest of my living room décor. I feel like that says something about me….

Weekend Reading:

This sunken medieval Italian village is amazing.

My favourite New York museum, the Frick, has little video tours of all their galleries and a YouTube series called cocktails with a curator where you get a little mini-lecture on a piece in the Frick’s collection. Amazing!

I love a good dictionary fight

Have I invested in a ridiculous number of Bravo-themed face masks? Yes, yes I have.

Now seems like as good a time as any to read about historical pandemics

Evolution

I treated myself to a new dress! Is it mostly black (and thus totally me)? Yes. But it also has a print – a white print! Guys, I’m evolving during this lockdown (not really but I throw me a bone).

Back in the Driveway

Well, I’m back in the driveway. Still looking surly, now forced to pretty much wear my ungovernable hair in a ponytail at all times. While many salons here are now open, with strict safety protocols in place, so I could go get my hair dyed and chopped off into the bob I’ve been craving since January, I’m reluctant to do it right now as I’m still working from home and would have to just head back for a touch up when I start going into the office. So I’m determined to ride it out for a bit and just spend a bunch of money and time going to the salon once, as a way to celebrate being able to go back to work again. My cheapness has apparently, triumphed. That said, as it's looking more and more like I will be working from home until January (at least), I will probably cave in the next few weeks...

Business on Top, Party on the Bottom

Welcome to a photographic self-study I’d calling “my hair gets ever crazier and people can only see me on Zoom from the waist up so leggings and runners it is.” I expect there will be many more editions of this self-study in the coming weeks. It's basically the mullet equivalent of an outfit.

Feature: This company makes some pretty cool stuff (and seems like a pretty great company overall). I’m definitely eyeing a few of their kids items for Eleanor.
