The weather while I was in Edinburgh (as is pretty typical for Scotland) was erratic. Sunny and pleasant one minute, it was chilly and threatened rain the next. My solution, especially when out hitting the sites all day (I’m visiting Stirling Castle in these photos), is to wear a light shirt, coupled with a warmer (but still lightweight coat) and then a cardigan or a chunky scarf that can be balled up and shoved into my purse. Layering!

Yep! Layering is key while on vacation in cooler climates! I remember when I went to London in March it was so crazy, I would be hot then cold then hot again

Totally agree- layering is absolutely the way to go. You can mix + match, plus add and subtract layers as the weather shifts. :)

Layering is a saviour when you're travelling, and especially when you're travelling in the UK. I have to admit that the blue skies in these photos look awfully tempting but I can imagine they looked twit different even ten minutes after the photos were taken!

I'm sure you're very happy the weather is cold enough to layer ; ) Love your Century 21 jacket!
Layering is the best way to go. You look great in your pictures. I really love your coat.
Definitely layering is the way to go! And perfect for our Vancouver climate too. We're cold in the mornings and hot by the afternoon. Looking gorgeous, plus hello, Scotland!!! xo
Certainly the way to go - you never want to get caught being too cold or uncomfortable when you are out sightseeing.
Chic on the Cheap
